In order to apply for gigs you’ll need to complete your profile. This acts as an online CV and allows Business Owners to see who is applying for their gigs. We see this as a highly important feature and below, we’ve come up with some top tips on how to create a killer profile.
*some users may have downloaded the old version of Gigable before February 5th. If this is the case please uninstall the app and download again.
Gigable’s recent update is designed to provide transparency for both Freelancers and Business Owners. This prevents Business Owners from taking a chance on someone they’ve never met, while it allows Freelancers to show why they’re a suitable candidate.
To apply for gigs, Freelancers must fully complete their profile. This process is simple and takes approximately 5 minutes (depending on how detailed you want to go!). This means completing 5 short written sections and providing a profile picture.
There are 5 written sections to your Gigable profile. Here is how you make each section as effective as possible so you can get picked to take more gigs, which results in you making more money!
Let Business Owners know what type of work you are looking for and give an idea of your availability. Don’t stop there – show them your personality and what hobbies you have. You’d be surprised how a good bio can influence the decision of a Business Owner.
This section is one of the most vital parts of a Freelancers profile. Here is your opportunity to share the experience and skills you have learned throughout your career, no matter how long or short it may be.
You might want to showcase your skills or even your online portfolio. Share it here! There are 3 different sections, including options to share your own website, your social media page or your LinkedIn page.
Depending on the industries you’re interested in, education could play a big part in the selection process for a Gig. Let’s say you’re a pharmacist or an accountant, the Business Owner will need to see some paperwork. On the other hand, some Gigs rely more on experience than education.
Another important section to show off your credentials. Here you can tell us if you have a driving licence, your own vehicle and if you’re able to speak English. It’s also an opportunity to show off any particular licenses or certifications you may have.
You’ll update your payment details to get paid properly. In the profile section, click on the top right corner and hit payment settings. Here you can add your bank details in order to get paid.
That’s it! Once your profile is complete, it’s time to start applying for gigs!
